I honour this fence beneath my feet.
It separates me from who I think I am, have been, and who I may someday be.
Each fence I cross is sacred; as are the ones I have dared not climb.
I would not grow if I did not cross them,
And I would not know my direction if they were not by my side.
I don’t stand alone upon this fence,
But my journey to it has been unique.
And, whether I cross it, or return to where I had been heading,
My experience of this sacred fence will always remain with me.
It’s interesting to me how some of us dare to name the fences that we: stand on, cross, avoid; while others leave them nameless an ignored. Thank you for sharing.
